General description
Lithium titanate, spinel is a class of electrode material that can be used in the fabrication of lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries consist of anode, cathode, and electrolyte with a charge-discharge cycle. These materials enable the formation of greener and sustainable batteries for electrical energy storage
Present Usage
Titanate batteries are used in certain Japanese-only versions of Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV electric vehicle, and Honda uses them in its EV-neo electric bike and Fit EV. They are also used in the Tosa concept electric bus. Due to their high level of safety, lithium-titanate batteries are used in mobile medical devices.
